Transfer your domain to Buddy to gain full control over DNS, automation, and integration with your DevOps pipelines.

How to transfer your domain to Buddy?

1. Transfering your domain

In the Domains tab select Add domain and then Transfer in...

2. Enter the domain details

In the form, provide the domain name and the authorization code.

Warning
To transfer a domain you need: Authorization code (a.k.a EPP code or Transfer code) - it is a unique security code that confirms you have the right to manage the domain. You can find the code in the panel of your current registrar. Transfer lock - protection against unauthorized domain transfer. Make sure it is disabled before you start the transfer. You can also find it in the panel of your current registrar.

Click Verify transfer availability, to see if the transfer is available.

4. Summary and price

Next screen will display the domain name, transfer charge and optional Auto-renew

5. Transfer confirmation

Check your mailbox. You should receive a message with a confirmation link.

Click the link in the email to confirm the transfer.

DNS records and nameservers.

Your nameservers will be changed to those provided by Buddy. We will try to fetch your current DNS records. Verification and approval of the DNS records is a required step in the domain transfer process.

6. Create DNS records

Add the DNS records manually or skip this step.

7. Transfer status

Newly transfered domain will appear on the list marked with TRANSFERRING... tag.

Tip
Learn more about each status.

8. Transfer complete!

You can no manage DNS, create records and use the domain in Buddy pipelines.

Hint
Domains transferred to Buddy can be used not only in projects and DNS records, but also as a public endpoint in the Tunnels tab.
