Changes to Git access in Buddy-hosted repos (2FA accounts only)

As a part of improving the security of our system, on October 26 we introduced API token Git authentication for repositories using Buddy as the Git provider. The update comes with an important followup:

From January 14, 2022, it will no longer be possible to run Git operations over HTTPS with username/password for users with 2FA activated.

If you do host your code on Buddy and have 2FA applied, make sure to update the way with which you authenticate in your repositories. You can choose between two methods:

Enabling two-factor authentication is highly recommended as it secures your account from a possible attack in case somebody gains access to your password, especially if you use the same credentials across multiple services or websites.
