How to reset user password without configured SMTP server
If you don’t have SMTP configured, you can use a manually generated URL to reset your password. In order to do that, you have to ask an admin to log in to your instance and do the following:
- Go to People and click the user whose password needs to be reset.
- Click Get reset password URL in the right column.
- Copy and send the URL so you can use it.
Resetting owner’s password from the CLI
If none of the admins is able to sign in to the workspace, you can log onto the machine where Buddy Enterprise is installed and generate temporary login credentials for the account owner with the CLI.
On the server where Buddy Enterprise is installed, run
- Go to
Reset workspace owner password.
- Use the generated credentials to log in to the workspace and set up a permanent password.
Once logged you can generate password reset URL’s for the workspace owner and the rest of the users. You can also configure SMTP to automate the process (recommended).
